About the School

Saint Adalbert Catholic School is located at 2345 East 83rd Street in the Fairfax Neighborhood. We are approximately six blocks south of the Cleveland Clinic, a five-minute drive from Shaker Square, and located within 1-2 minutes of Opportunity Corridor. We are the oldest African-American, Roman-Catholic parish in the State of Ohio and the second oldest in the United States. Our community is rich with history in the Fairfax neighborhood dating back to 1873 as our school spans several decades and generations of families. We currently have 435 students registered for the 2024 - 2025 school year and have two classrooms per grade level. We are pursuing our STEM certification.

Job Requirements

The teacher should relate to students at all levels, but specifically adjust to meet students at their abilities. They should be able to relate to and work with struggling learners, yet also push excelling students for advancement! Knowledge of Clever Touch or SMART Boards is a plus, as well as classroom implementation of Chromebooks and other technology. This teacher must be certified in the State of Ohio with a Non-Tax Certification or an appropriate Teaching License in this subject area or grade level. Candidates must pass a BCI / FBI background check and have quality references. Candidates should have good communication skills and communicate well with parents, other staff members, and be a good / positive team player. We work as a team on our campus so we need like-minded people pursuing the common-good for children. Teachers must be present at work by 7:30 a.m. daily and may depart at 3:50 p.m. daily. Teachers must host one tutoring session per week. Teachers must also attend a minimum of two after-school events, including a PTU meeting, dance, movie night, or other family-related event. We follow the Diocese of Cleveland Curriculum which is based upon the Common Core State Standards. Candidates must have a passion for education, an appreciation for Christianity, and a desire to help children grow and succeed. Health benefits are available as well sick-leave and many paid vacations provided. All teachers Pre-k - 4th grade have a full time aide. Teachers 5th grade and above have a floating aide. Starting salary is negotiable based on experience.
