Kava Joy Kava Bar, located inside Nature We Trust Wellness Market in St. Augustine, Florida, is looking for a part-time Kavatender / Barista to join our team.

This is not a typical bar job. We serve kava, botanical beverages, herbal teas, coffee, and other wellness-focused drinks in a welcoming, alcohol-free environment built around community, conversation, and good energy.

We are looking for someone who can do more than make drinks. The right person will help create an atmosphere that feels warm, clean, inviting, and memorable for every guest who walks through the door.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in barista work, bartending, hospitality, wellness retail, or customer service, especially someone who enjoys building connections with regulars and helping shape a positive customer experience.

Schedule

Part-time Afternoon into Night shift Weekend availability needed

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve kava, teas, coffees, and other specialty beverages with consistency and care
• Welcome guests and create a friendly, relaxed, and professional environment
• Educate customers on menu items and help answer questions about drink options
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, service area, and guest-facing spaces
• Restock ingredients, supplies, cups, and bar essentials as needed
• Help maintain the overall flow, atmosphere, and customer experience during shift
• Support community-driven events, promotions, and in-store experiences when needed
• Work closely with the team to uphold service standards and brand values
• Follow all company procedures for safety, cleanliness, and customer service

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, food service, bartending, barista work, retail, or customer service preferred
• Strong people skills and a natural ability to make guests feel comfortable
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
• Able to multitask and stay organized in a customer-facing environment
• Comfortable working afternoon and evening shifts
• Interest in wellness, botanical beverages, and community-centered hospitality is a plus
• Ability to learn drink preparation standards and product knowledge
• Must maintain a professional and positive attitude during busy and slow periods alike
