Kennel Technician and Receptionist

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Technician and Receptionist to join our animal care team. This dual-role position offers an opportunity to work closely with pets and provide exceptional customer service to pet owners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, possess strong communication skills, and have experience in pet handling and veterinary care. This role is vital in ensuring the well-being of our animals and delivering a positive experience for clients. Experience in a Kennel, Shelter or Vet Clinic is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medications as needed
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and ensure their comfort and your safety at all times
• Assist with pet grooming, pet sitting, and basic training activities to support animal well-being
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and common spaces in accordance with health standards
• Greet clients at the front desk, schedule appointments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures
• Answer phone calls and emails, respond to client inquiries, and provide excellent customer service
• Assist veterinary staff with animal handling during examinations or treatments as required
• Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or animals safely

Qualifications

• Prior experience in veterinary assisting, kennel work, pet grooming, or animal handling is preferred
• Knowledge of dog training, veterinary procedures, and animal restraint techniques is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately of various sizes and temperaments
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
• Reliable, detail-oriented, with a genuine passion for animal care

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
