Job Summary
To drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability by managing and developing strategic key accounts. The Key Account Manager is responsible for building long-term partnerships with customers, identifying business opportunities, leading commercial and contractual negotiations, and ensuring excellence in execution across the full customer lifecycle. The role requires strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and cross-functional leadership to deliver value-based solutions and achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue Growth & Financial Performance

Own and achieve annual sales targets, revenue, and gross margin for assigned key accounts.

Drive profitable growth, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives.

Monitor order intake, revenue realization, and collection performance.
-
Ensure timely payment collection in line with agreed credit terms.

Develop accurate sales forecasts (monthly/quarterly/annual) and pipeline visibility.
2. Strategic Account Management

Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies for key customers.

Build and maintain multi-level relationships (technical, commercial, and executive).

Identify opportunities for long-term agreements, framework contracts, and partnerships.

Drive account penetration and cross-selling across product and service portfolios.

Understand customer business models, expansion plans, and future needs.
3. Business Development & Market Expansion

Identify and acquire new high-value customers and strategic projects.

Expand presence in targeted industries and regions.

Position the company as a preferred and trusted partner.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies.

Provide insights to support business growth and market positioning.
4. Commercial Leadership & Negotiation

Lead commercial discussions and contract negotiations with key clients.

Ensure optimal pricing strategies, margins, and contract terms.

Evaluate commercial risks and ensure alignment with company policies.

Support complex deal structuring and high-value opportunities.
5. Tendering, Contracts & Risk Management

Lead and coordinate complex tendering processes (technical & commercial alignment).
-
Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions to minimize risk.

Manage variations, claims, and contractual changes during execution.
-
Ensure full compliance with customer specifications and company procedures.
6. Customer Experience & Lifecycle Management

Ensure high customer satisfaction across all touchpoints.

Act as the primary escalation point for key accounts.

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure on-time delivery and execution excellence.

Promote after-sales services, maintenance contracts, and lifecycle solutions.
-
Gather feedback and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Cross-Functional Leadership

Lead coordination with Engineering, Production, Finance, Supply Chain, and Service teams.

Align internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and timelines.

Drive accountability across departments for key account success.

Participate in internal strategy and review meetings.
8. Sales Governance & Reporting

Maintain accurate CRM pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity tracking.

Provide regular reports on sales performance, pipeline health, and risks.
-
Ensure full compliance with company sales processes and documentation standards.
-
Track KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed.
9. Leadership & Team Development

Mentor and support junior sales engineers and coordinators.

Contribute to building a high-performance sales culture.

Share best practices, market intelligence, and lessons learned.
10. Compliance & HSE

Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and governance.

Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.

Promote safe practices during site visits and project coordination.
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.

MBA or additional qualifications in Business Administration / Sales Management is a plus.
Experience
-
6–10 years of experience in technical sales / key account management.
-
Proven track record in managing strategic accounts and achieving revenue targets.
-
Strong experience in tendering, contract negotiation, and project-based sales.
-
Experience in electrical motors, rotating equipment, pumps, or industrial solutions is highly preferred.
