Duties
- Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods when applicable.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by managing behavior effectively and encouraging social-emotional growth among children.
- Engage children in activities that promote literacy, math skills, physical education, and overall childhood development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum enhancements and participate in ongoing training related to special education, early intervention, and classroom management techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, conduct assessments, and prepare reports for parent-teacher conferences or standardized testing requirements.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of all children by adhering to childcare regulations, implementing proper child welfare practices, and maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to provide updates on children’s progress and address any concerns with professionalism and clarity.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, and early intervention techniques.
- Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching physical education or tutoring activities.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and literacy education methods.
- Certifications in early childhood education or related fields are preferred; Montessori training is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively work with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports diverse learning needs including special education accommodations.
