Part-Time Kitchen and Bath Designer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Kitchen and Bath Designer to join our custom cabinetry business team. This role is crucial for converting client needs into precise, manufacturable designs. The Designer will be responsible for managing design projects from initial concept through final ordering and production support, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Consultation and Design Development:

◦ Consult with clients to determine design goals, spatial requirements, and budget constraints for custom kitchen and bath cabinetry projects.

◦ Develop creative and functional design solutions that align with the company’s focus on custom cabinetry design and installation.

2. Technical Design and Drafting:

Produce accurate technical drawings and renderings using CAD software (AutoCAD, or Mozaik)

◦ Generate plans, elevations, and detailed specifications for fabrication and installation teams.

3. Ordering and Procurement:

◦ Manage the selection and specification of materials, ensuring compatibility with shop capabilities and client budgets.

Utilize the Conestoga Connex Ordering system to process and finalize cabinetry orders efficiently and accurately

◦ Maintain organized files and records, including customer lists and quotation/purchase records, relevant to active projects

4. Project Support and Coordination:

◦ Work closely with the Lead Designer (the prior entity had a Lead Designer on staff) and production team located at the Workshop Premises.

◦ Assist in managing projects, potentially related to Works in Progress (WIP, contracts entered into prior to closing and partially performed) to ensure smooth transitions from design to completion.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in kitchen and bath design, focusing specifically on custom cabinetry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software for architectural and cabinetry design drafting.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with the Conestoga Connex Ordering system is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with clients and production staff.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding measurements, material specifications, and order accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects effectively.

Work Schedule

  • This is a part-time remote position; schedule flexibility may be available, subject to business needs.
  • Hours will be determined upon hiring.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $58,396.74 - $70,327.26 per year
