The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining high cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role ensures compliance with food safety regulations, keeps kitchen equipment and surfaces sanitized, and supports the overall efficiency of the culinary team in a fine dining environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, floors, walls, and storage areas.
- Wash, dry, and properly store kitchen utensils, dishes, and cookware.
- Ensure proper disposal of kitchen waste while following hygiene and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
- Adhere to cleaning schedules and comply with food hygiene and safety regulations
- Assist in deep cleaning kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and exhaust hoods.
- Refill and stock cleaning supplies to ensure the kitchen remains well-equipped
- Report any maintenance or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Physical Working Conditions:
- Typically works long shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- May need to handle emergency cleaning during peak hours.
- Lifting and carrying cleaning supplies, garbage bags, and kitchen tools (typically 10-20 kg)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality cleaning role (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fine dining environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
