Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Kitchen Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment such as chimneys, exhaust hoods, ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and other restaurant appliances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission kitchen equipment at client locations.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on chimneys, exhaust systems, ovens, refrigerators, and other commercial kitchen appliances.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and safety.
- Respond promptly to service requests and ensure minimum downtime for clients.
- Maintain tools and parts inventory related to kitchen equipment servicing.
- Provide technical advice and support to clients and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Document all work performed, including parts used and service time.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a kitchen equipment technician or HVAC technician with kitchen appliance expertise.
- Familiarity with electrical and gas-powered restaurant appliances.
- Good understanding of exhaust and ventilation systems (e.g., chimneys, hoods).
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration systems and controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work independently and handle emergency repairs.
Preferred Experience:
- 2+ years in commercial kitchen equipment servicing.
- Experience with brands commonly used in restaurants and hotels.
