Job Summary:
The Kitchen Helper is responsible for supporting kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring hygiene standards are met. This role is essential in ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment
- Wash dishes, pots, and kitchen tools in a timely manner
- Ensure proper storage of food items as per safety standards
- Dispose of kitchen waste regularly and maintain hygiene
- Support chefs and cooks during meal preparation and service
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum education: Matric / High School (preferred)
- Prior experience in a kitchen or similar role is a plus
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
- Team player with a positive attitude
