Kitchen Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a comprehensive understanding of food service management. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, controlling inventory, and delivering exceptional customer service to ensure smooth restaurant operations and high guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance to foster a productive team environment.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain high-quality standards consistent with the restaurant’s brand.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste.
  • Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas.
  • Coordinate shift management to ensure efficient service during peak hours while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist in menu planning, costing, and implementing new culinary concepts or specials.
  • Train staff on food handling, safety protocols, customer service excellence, and operational procedures.
  • Monitor kitchen productivity and implement process improvements for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house management to deliver seamless dining experiences for guests.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment adhering to health codes and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management within quick service, casual dining, or fine dining settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience in the food industry.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, food safety standards (including HACCP), and food production processes.
  • Excellent team management skills including training & development, interviewing potential staff, and shift management.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Culinary experience with a background in hospitality management or hotel/banquet experience is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34 – 45 per week
