Kitchen Staff/Helper (Japanese Restaurant)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping ingredients.
  • Prepare and portion ingredients as instructed by the chef, following Japanese cuisine standards.
  • Ensure all ingredients are stored properly and used efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including counters, equipment, and storage areas.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  • Assist chefs and cooks during food preparation and service in a Japanese restaurant setting.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Report any safety or maintenance issues to the Chef In Charge/Supervisor.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety practices and procedures.
  • Good physical condition; able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a Japanese restaurant.
  • Available to start work immediately.
