  • Wash and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, glassware, and pots/pans according to hygiene standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and work areas.
  • Dispose of garbage and recyclables properly and ensure waste areas are clean and organized.
  • Assist with receiving, unloading, and proper storage of deliveries and supplies.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies and chemicals are used safely and stored correctly.
  • Support chefs and cooks by providing clean equipment and maintaining a well-organized kitchen environment.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (HACCP, local health codes, etc.).
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to the Stewarding Supervisor or Chef immediately.
  • Assist in setting up for banquets, events, or meal services when required.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a steward, dishwasher, or in a similar role preferred (but not always required).
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and physically demanding environment.
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
