Kitchen Steward

The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring all utensils, equipment, and workspaces are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work areas
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, drains, and waste areas
  • Handle waste disposal according to hygiene and safety standards
  • Assist kitchen staff with basic tasks when required
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
  • Report maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role preferred
  • Knowledge of basic hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours
  • Team player with a positive attitude
