The Kitchen Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of kitchen equipment used in the catering production kitchen. The role ensures uninterrupted kitchen operations by keeping all equipment safe, functional, and compliant with hygiene and safety standards

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, refrigeration units, and food warmers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and gas-related faults and carry out timely repairs.
  • Coordinate with external service providers when major repairs are required.

Kitchen Operations Support

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is operational before production schedules and catering events.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns during kitchen operations.
  • Assist kitchen staff with proper equipment usage to avoid misuse or damage.

Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

  • Ensure equipment complies with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for maintenance schedules, repairs, and safety checks.
  • Ensure safe handling of gas, electrical, and mechanical systems.Inventory & Spare Parts Management
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Recommend replacement or upgrades of equipment when necessary.

General Maintenance

  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance related to kitchen operations.
  • Support facility maintenance tasks as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma/ITI/Technical Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years experience working with commercial kitchen equipment (hotel, catering, or industrial kitchen preferred).
  • Knowledge of gas systems, refrigeration, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
