Knowledgable bookkeeper needed for small business

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our small business team. This role offers an opportunity to manage and to bring current our financial records, ensure accuracy and establish a plan for success with new procedures and implementation in cleaning up past books and success in dealing with business procedures!The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks accounting software and possess a strong understanding of financial concepts relevant to small business operations. Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation
• Reconcile bank statements and perform balance sheet reconciliation regularly
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
• Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and financial report writing
• Conduct payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations
• Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to GAAP standards

Experience

• Proven experience with bookkeeping or accounting roles in small business environments and remotely!
• Familiarity with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation
• Experience with IRS collection account analysis, and account reconciliation procedures
• Knowledge of payroll processing, tax experience, and governmental accounting standards is a plus
• Ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently and accurately for data entry tasks

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
