The Yasuda Laboratory at the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI) investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal plasticity during learning and memory.

The Yasuda Laboratory invites applications for the part-time position of Laboratory Assistant, with a primary focus on inventory control. We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our dynamic research group.

The part-time Laboratory Assistant will be crucial in supporting the lab's operations, primarily focusing on inventory control. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Inventory Management:

  • Control and maintain inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Place orders for reagents, chemicals, devices, and other supplies required for laboratory members and their experiments.
  • Receive and approve incoming shipments and invoices.
  • Communicate effectively with the institutional procurement department and vendors regarding the purchase, installation, or other aspects of ordered products.

Documentation and Archiving:

  • Archive purchase records, product information, and additional digital and physical information on the lab's records.
  • HS Diploma
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication skills to interact within a diverse team.

Previous experience in inventory management or procurement is preferred.

Successful candidates may have the potential for advancement into a full-time position based on demonstrated skills and performance.

This is a part-time position requiring 3.5 hours of work per day. The proposed schedule is 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Friday although start time may be flexible.
