Lab Assistant II/Lead Lab Assistant
1. High School Diploma.
2. Secondary Education / Phlebotomy Program or 4 years Laboratory experience.
3. Performed work successfully as a Lab Assistant I with above average annual evaluations, in order to be considered as a Lab Assistant II.
4. Ability to read, speak and write English effectively; and be able to demonstrate skill in communication, both verbal and non-verbal, as well as written.
5. Proficient use of computers.
6. Phlebotomy training certification preferred.

What you will do:

• Collect blood samples from patients.
• Accurately identify, lab transfer and process specimens.
• Receives and instructs patients, nurses, staff physicians, doctor’s offices regarding proper collection of specimens and laboratory reports, procedures and other lab information.
• Receives and instructs patients, interprets physician’s orders, enters orders into lab computer system and schedules appointments.

Lab Assistant II/Lead Lab Assistant
All of the above plus,
1. Must actively take initiative to complete the work of the laboratory
2. Must be accurate and very detail-oriented in work.
3. May occasionally be required to travel to off-site locations to register and collect specimens.
4. Must communicate and work closely with lab management team
