Overview
The Lab Chemist will perform routine and specialized testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished polyethylene products in accordance with approved methods and specifications, ensuring product quality, compliance with standards, and adherence to the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements.
Responsibilities

Conduct routine testing of raw materials and finished products in accordance with approved ASTM, ISO, and internal methods.

Perform testing on in-process and finished products as per the Product Technical Data Sheet, Solmax Quality Plan, and specified testing frequency for each property.

Ensure that all laboratory equipment is maintained in good operating condition and that calibration certificates remain valid.

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly testing reports and summaries for management review.

Report any detected nonconformities immediately to the Production Shift Supervisor or Production Manager and actively participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Support the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001).

Escalate any quality, safety, or environmental concerns to the Quality Manager or relevant manager.

Contribute to achieving company objectives regarding quality, safety and environment.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing laboratory environment, preferably in polyethylene or polypropylene production.

Good command of English (spoken and written).

Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Management Systems.

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365).

Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
