DAY TO DAY AS A LAB COORDINATOR

Join our dynamic team as a Lab Coordinator, where you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the pulse of daily laboratory operations under the guidance of the Clinic Operations Manager. In this exciting position, you'll ensure that our patients receive safe, efficient, and high-quality care. From coordinating all clinic lab activities and performing blood and specimen collection to maintaining lab equipment and supplies, your impact will be felt every day. You'll also ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards while supporting clinical staff and assisting with procedures.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A LAB COORDINATOR

To thrive as a Lab Coordinator at Fourth Street Clinic, you'll need a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal skills. A certification or training in phlebotomy or laboratory procedures is essential, along with 1–3 years of clinical or laboratory experience that showcases your ability to navigate the complexities of a lab environment. A solid understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and quality standards is crucial for maintaining compliance and ensuring patient safety. You should possess strong organizational and documentation skills to accurately collect, label, and process specimens.

While experience in a community health clinic or non-profit healthcare setting is preferred, your ability to supervise and train volunteers will enhance our collaborative spirit. Familiarity with electronic health records or laboratory information systems will make you an even stronger asset to our team. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Required:

Certification or training in phlebotomy or laboratory procedures
At least 1–3 years of clinical or laboratory experience
Knowledge of laboratory safety
infection control and quality standards
Ability to accurately collect label and process specimens
Strong organizational and documentation skills

Preferred:

Experience working in a community health clinic or non-profit healthcare setting
Experience supervising or training volunteers or support staff
Familiarity with electronic health records or laboratory information systems
All employees must pass a criminal background check upon hire with appropriate consent.
