The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) in Pasadena, CA, is looking to hire an Inventory Technician with experience in fast-paced research and development environments. You will directly contribute to AWS’s effort to bring cloud quantum computing services to its worldwide customer base. This role requires an individual who can balance working and communicating with multiple stakeholders including internal customers, and cross-functional support teams such as finance, trade & compliance and legal.
On this team you will wear many hats, work smart, and iterate quickly. We’re looking for someone who can manage physical inventory and move quickly to meet business needs. Successful applicants will have a strong background in inventory fulfillment and inventory systems, experience with specialty lab equipment and heavy machinery, critical spare part management, lab supplies to include both hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals, and other testing & scientific equipment.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Execute day-to-day inventory management tasks for Quantum Computing and site-to-site material transfers
- Monitor stock levels and execute replenishment orders based on established processes
- Communicate with internal customers regarding order statuses and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate inventory records by executing cycle counts and physical inventory checks
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements including chemical storage
- Arrange transportation for site-to-site transfers of inventory
- Update stock location and bin information in our inventory system
- Capture and provide user stories for process improvements

The Center for Quantum Computing (CQC) aims to deliver quantum computing to AWS's global customer base. You will join a team of inventory and supply chain specialists focused on securing our supply chain and inventory streams. Your contributions will result in reliability and availability metrics for tool operations, fabrication yields, and progress towards mission critical organizational goals.

- Can carry/lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reach
- 2+ years of supply chain experience
- 2+ years managing inventory in warehousing, distribution, industrial or laboratory setting
- 1+ year working in a research lab or semi-conductor fabrication facility
- Experience with Jira and Jira Service Management (JSM) for issue tracking, project management, and service desk operations
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 suite, including Outlook for email and calendar management, Word for document creation, Excel for data organization and reporting, and SharePoint for team collaboration and document management.
- Familiarity with generative AI tools and concepts is preferred, including experience using AI-powered assistants to support day-to-day tasks such as drafting content, summarizing information, and answering questions.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
