Overview:
A scrap metal processing company specializing in titanium and high-grade super alloys is seeking a qualified and hands on Lab Manager. The Lab Manager will lead a full-scale laboratory ensuring consistent and accurate testing of various alloys. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the analysis and processing of titanium and high-grade super alloys. This is a full-time position based on-site at our Franklin, KY facility.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all laboratory operations, including sample preparation, testing, and reporting.

Ensure compliance with customer-specific chemistry requirements for superalloys and titanium.

Manage and maintain analytical equipment, such as XRF and ICP-OES, ensuring accuracy and reliability.

Develop and implement quality control protocols to meet industry and customer standards.

Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff to maintain high performance and safety standards.

Collaborate with our operations and commercial teams to align lab results with inventory and processing needs.

Monitor and report on material specifications, identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.

Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and advancements in analytical techniques.

Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.

Preferred minimum of 5 years experience in laboratory management, ideally within the aerospace metals industry.

Expertise preferred in analyzing superalloys and titanium, including knowledge of chemistry specifications.

Proficiency with analytical tools such as XRF, ICP-OES, and gas analysis equipment.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and safety-first mentality.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and reporting to management.
