Nature and Scope of Job

The Lab Support Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of qualified electronic systems used throughout the organization. This includes hardware, software, and communication infrastructure used in operational technologies. The role ensures high system availability, security, and performance, while providing technical support to users and collaborating with vendors and internal departments to resolve system issues. Collaborates cross functionally as a key team member in developing and or upgrading GxP software applications for laboratory management, compliance, and data integrity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Configure process flows for development, testing, and production environments in accordance with approved protocols and scripts.
  • Creates and maintains electronic QMS documentation including Administration and User SOP’s, functional specifications/user roles and training materials.
  • Provides quality, timely and accurate lab systems analysis, design, configuration and support; including daily technical support to systems users.
  • Performs system laboratory software system administration task including all configuration, set up and maintenance activities
  • Develop and lead enterprise-wide deployments and interfacing of systems including: LIMS, QMS, SDMS, CDS, CPMS, MODA and other related technology software system administration task including all configuration, set up and maintenance activities.
  • Administrator collaborates cross functionally as a key team member in implementing and upgrading software applications for system management, compliance, and data integrity Partners with Computer System Validation (CSV), IT, QC, and QA to ensure data integrity best practices are aligned and followed.
  • Pulls system audit trails at prescribed intervals and escalates any data integrity concerns.
  • Gather user requirements, scope and manage projects for system upgrades and improvements.
  • Collaborates with Computer System Validation (CSV) in authoring and execution of validation test scripts.
  • Develop views, standard queries, custom reports and dashboards based on requirements.
  • Liaise with vendors for support, warranties, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain electronic systems and related hardware/software (e.g., control systems, monitoring systems, communication equipment, interfaces).
  • Provide first- and second-line technical support to users across departments.
  • Monitor system performance and perform routine maintenance and upgrades.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three to four (3-4) years of experience in a Life Science, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Tactical expertise in laboratory software systems.
  • Knows all lab software and can problem solve across a wide range of systems.
  • Good communication with industry experts and regulators.
  • Needs minimal supervision to deliver to goals and objectives.
  • Experience with initial development and roll out of LIMS
  • Experience with regulatory and GMP inspection a plus

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Software Engineering or Computer Science. Minimum (6 – 8) years of experience without degree.

Compensation

Salary/Hourly Rate Range (W2): USD 45.00 - 55.00

The base salary/hourly rate range represents the anticipated low and high end of the USDM’s compensation range for this position. Actual salaries/hourly rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. The compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described based on market survey data or budget.

Full-time employees are eligible for health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, short and long-term disability, hospital indemnity, accident, and critical care coverage.

Both full and part-time employees, who are at least 21 years of age, are eligible to participate in USDM's 401k plan. Full and part-time employees may be eligible for paid time off.
