Lab Technician

The lab technician performs laboratory tests daily on plating tanks for the purposes of quality control, process control, or process development by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

• Test solutions used in plating processes for chemical concentration, specific gravity, or other characteristics.
• Records test results in computer system and/or on standardized forms.
• Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment and work area.
• Calibrates laboratory instruments.
• Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas.
• Adds chemicals or raw materials to process solutions to correct or establish formulation requirements to meet specifications.
• Maintain chemical inventory on a continual basis.

Educational and Work Experience Requirements

· 2-3 Years Laboratory experience preferred but not required.

· Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe and clean workspace

· Desired Qualities: Punctual, Time management skills, and Interdepartmental communication skills.

Essential Physical Requirements

· Ability to lift 50 pounds.

· Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 hours.

· Ability to see or correct to 20/20.

· Ability to hear.

· Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test).

· Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms.
