Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disposing of hazardous waste samples in compliance with standard operating procedures, analytical methods, and safety protocols. This role requires hands-on experience in laboratory environments, particularly with hazardous materials, and a strong commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities:
Handle hazardous waste samples using four-ounce bottles, one-pint bottles, and sampling tins.
Extract required aliquots from samples for analysis following established procedures.
Perform a variety of tests on hazardous waste samples in compliance with safety standards.
Document and report analytical findings with accuracy and attention to detail.
Safely dispose of analyzed samples in properly labeled containers.
Inspect laboratory hazardous waste management areas to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory with hazardous materials or hazardous waste.
Knowledge of hazardous material safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and equipment.
