Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disposing of hazardous waste samples in compliance with standard operating procedures, analytical methods, and safety protocols. This role requires hands-on experience in laboratory environments, particularly with hazardous materials, and a strong commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle hazardous waste samples using four-ounce bottles, one-pint bottles, and sampling tins.

  • Extract required aliquots from samples for analysis following established procedures.

  • Perform a variety of tests on hazardous waste samples in compliance with safety standards.

  • Document and report analytical findings with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Safely dispose of analyzed samples in properly labeled containers.

  • Inspect laboratory hazardous waste management areas to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in a laboratory with hazardous materials or hazardous waste.

  • Knowledge of hazardous material safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Familiarity with laboratory testing methods and equipment.
