Lab Technician

Overview
The Pancreatic Research Group at UCLA/West Los Angeles VA Healthcare is seeking a Research Assistant. The role involves working in a team to investigate the mechanisms of diseases affecting the exocrine pancreas. Responsibilities include analyzing cellular and molecular changes in tissue using cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular techniques. This position includes all benefits offered by UCLA.

Qualifications:

BA or BSci or equivalent degree from 4-year college with biology or chemistry/biochemistry related major.

Experience in working with mice, maintaining breeding mouse colonies.

Experience with PCR genotyping.

Laboratory skills in biochemistry/molecular biology procedures including immunoblot, DNA and RNA isolations.

Experience with immunohistological procedures and microscope operation.

Excellent skills in computer and software use, such as Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop.

Experience with laboratory safety practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,766.00 per year
