Lab Technician - 2nd shift

Our St. Henry Harvesting plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 2nd shift Lab Technician to join our team in St. Henry.

SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm

STARTING HOURLY RATE: $19.00 with a potential increase after 90 days.

ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

All training will be provided for this position. Job functions include:

• Testing production sample for compliance with standards (chemical and microbiological).
• Recording laboratory results utilizing set standards and procedures.
• Evaluating tested data, prepare charts, graphs, and reports presenting laboratory findings.
• Working with and maintaining a good relationship with USDA to meet government requirements.
• Trouble shooting lab equipment when breakdowns occur.
• Actively maintaining high personal sanitary measures by following the established guidelines.

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must have organizational skills, testing and evaluation skills, technical knowledge of laboratory equipment, and statistical knowledge.
• Must have written/verbal communication, math skills, and human relation skills.
