Lab Technician , BSC MLT /DMLT (DIRECTORATE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION KERALA)

Position Overview

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing routine laboratory tests, experiments, and procedures to support scientific research, product development, or quality control. This role ensures accurate data collection, safe laboratory practices, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Collect, process, and analyze samples (biological, chemical, or physical).
• Record and interpret test results with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, including chemicals, reagents, and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support senior scientists, researchers, or medical staff in ongoing projects.
• Document findings and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments.
• Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive data.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Proven experience in laboratory work (internship or prior employment preferred).
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and quality control standards.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, techniques, and data recording systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.54 - ₹17,000.27 per month
