What to Expect
Tesla is looking to hire a Quality Control Technician with experience of working in analytical lab. This candidate will be a core member of Cathode Quality team that is focused on the testing and evaluation of Cathode materials to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. In support of this 24/7 operation, you will be required to work on DuPont scheduled shift, and working shift is expected.
What You'll Do-
Mainly focused on Cathode active materials and its raw materials inspection, testing and release from the QC lab

Drive the safety motto of the QC lab with zero spill, full EHS compliance and zero LTI mindset

Plan, procure, organize, and run test equipment by following SOP and 5S principles

Conduct chemical, Physical, and Electrochemical Characterization of the materials using different analytical techniques such as SEM, ICP-OES, Tap Density, PSA, XRD, coin cell etc.

Document data in the quality database while ensuring high accuracy and precision of the reported data

Bring new ideas to increase productivity, reduce cost and minimize waste

Support team members for in-house troubleshooting of QC lab equipment
What You'll Bring-
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent experience

1 – 2 years of hands-on and analytical (university or commercial) experience related to: metallurgy, inorganic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, or materials science

Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Experience of using advanced analytical techniques common to materials characterization

Must be able to demonstrate meticulous organizational, data management and communication skills

Must have a strong sense of safety and be able to work independently or with others

Command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:

Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment

Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and work in varying temperatures and environments

Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and kneel as needed
