Overview:
Provides legal advice and counsel in a variety of labor and employment matters related to the Company’s business.
What you will be doing:
- Provides labor and employment law advice that requires an ability to work collaboratively within the legal function and with various business, legal, and HR stakeholders.

Establishes a strong partnership with HR and business teams, providing sound employment and labor advice.

Anticipates and mitigates risks to deliver value and drive the best results for the enterprise.

Advises and oversees HR investigations and escalates appropriately.

Manages database for all Labor & employment related investigations.

Provides first line of legal advice regarding Ethics and Compliance Hotline labor & employment issues and escalates appropriately.

First line of advice on full range of employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, termination, compensation, benefits, and COVID-19, including responding to administrative charges, complaints, attorney’s letters, settlement demands and claims, discrimination and wage and hour matters, and escalate appropriately.

Reviews and provides guidance on drafting and development of various policies and procedures in the U.S. and Canada.

Assists with required reporting on labor and employment matters to parent company.

Provides support to maintain, determine and/or remediate legal compliance issues impacting the company’s operations from an overall employment law, compensation and benefits perspective.

Assists with labor and employment audits.

Develops, delivers, tracks and supports labor and employment education and training as needed.

Stays up to date with changes to legislation, laws, rules and regulations that directly affect the business and specific industry.

Performs additional assignments per management’s direction.
What we are looking for:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required.

Admission to and in good standing in any state bar.

4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney required.

Experience working in the construction industry preferred.

Experience with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel experience preferred.

Experience investigating complaints and managing investigation database.

Knowledge of federal and state regulatory practices

Knowledge of EEO laws and regulations, administrative rulings and applicable court rulings

Demonstrated skill in identifying legal and business issues

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully

Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with associates at all levels of the organization

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Work, PowerPoint and Excel
