Full Job Description

The Analyst will work under the supervision of the Lab Director to execute cannabis sample Pesticides and Mycotoxins testing and analysis using HPLC.

The Analyst will be responsible for any Potency sample preparation and data collection in the lab to ensure efficiency and compliance. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in sample preparation for other analytical tests in the lab as needed.

The ideal candidate has experience with working with HPLC instrumentation in a cannabis testing lab, along with previous experience in an ISO 17025 or regulated environment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Potency analysis on customer samples.
  • Follow laboratory SOPs and adhere to all applicable quality assurance policies.
  • Work in a fast-paced, production lab environment with variable sample volume which requires flexibility in your schedule to consistently meet turn-around time requirements.
  • Ensure all work is performed and documented properly and in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain traceable, reproducible, and reliable results with limited supervision.
  • Use the laboratory’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to report results obtained from various analyses.
  • Assists in maintaining the laboratory for ISO accreditation standards, GLP and future audits.
  • Assist in sample preparation for other analytical tests in the lab as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining/developing SOPs and documentation required for compliance.
  • Recommend and implement in-process improvements for the laboratory.
  • Perform calibration and routine maintenance of analytical instruments.
  • Developing new methods not currently online at the laboratory and writing standard operating procedures for them in conjunction with state regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining/developing SOPs and documentation required for compliance.

Preferred Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science degree or greater in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related Chemistry field with at least 2 years of analytical lab experience is required.
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC is preferred.
  • Experience working in a cannabis testing lab is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Laboratory experience performing chemical extraction, method development, verification, and validation is a plus.
  • Familiar with GLP standards.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to cross-train where needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
