Laboratory Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Tucker, GA. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Title: Lab Assistant

Location: Tucker, GA 30084

Pay Rate: $18 - $19.70/hr. on W2.

Duration: 3+ Months

Shift: Tues - Sat 2:00am to 10:30am with every 3rd Sunday rotation

*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Job Summary

Perform routine laboratory tasks accurately to support lab staff and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and receive specimens.
• Centrifuge, label, store, and retrieve specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing (aliquoting, slide prep, checking for clots, inoculation).
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and weekly wipe tests.
• Record temperature logs and maintain department files.
• Prepare reagents and media.
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
• Follow QA/QC procedures.
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazard materials.
• Follow PPE and all safety regulations.
• Use laboratory computer systems and PCs.
• Complete required training and competency checklists.
• Assist with special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (medical assistant training preferred).
• Strong organization and multitasking skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
• Professional and respectful communication skills.
• Bilingual candidates strongly preferred who also speak Spanish. English still must be strong, as well
