Our client is a research-focused organization that supports product development and testing through laboratory-based experimentation and evaluation. They are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to help support ongoing research activities by preparing samples, conducting standardized testing, and assisting senior team members with day-to-day laboratory operations.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$19/hr - $21/hr

Position Overview

The Laboratory Assistant will support laboratory research initiatives by preparing test samples, conducting routine evaluations, and documenting results according to established procedures. This Laboratory Assistant role is ideal for an early-career science graduate who enjoys hands-on lab work.

Responsibilities Of The Laboratory Assistant

  • Prepare and organize laboratory samples according to established procedures and research requirements.
  • Conduct standardized testing on experimental materials and record observations accurately.
  • Document results and testing outcomes using internal data recording practices.
  • Execute assigned laboratory tasks independently while adhering to defined procedures.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and testing materials in proper working order.
  • Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and review technical documentation when performing tasks.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment that supports safe and efficient operations.

Required Experience/Skills for the Laboratory Assistant:

  • Ability to follow written procedures, technical instructions, and safety documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Laboratory Assistant:

  • Prior laboratory, research, or academic lab experience.
  • Exposure to laboratory testing methods or experimental evaluation processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and curiosity in a research environment.

Education Requirements:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline is required.
