Posting Information
- Regulations related to safety, building code, university policy
- Best practices related to budgeting/purchasing/accounting
- Deep understanding of laboratory procedures, techniques, capabilities, equipment facility/software requirements (vacuum equipment, compressors/heat exchangers/refrigeration, compressed gas delivery, etc…)
- Skilled in equipment troubleshooting/repair/calibration/maintenance, computer hardware/software/networking, and facility support (computer/network hardware and operating systems, electronics, additive and subtractive fabrication, etc…)
- Ability to interpret complex technical materials/schematics/data
- Master’s degree in science or engineering discipline
troubleshooting, and repair.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools used for repair and maintenance
- Respond to work requests for equipment repair and maintenance according to established priority
- Train, supervise, and inspect the work of student workers
- Respond to work requests for lab infrastructure modifications
- Use additive and/or subtractive manufacturing to fabricate custom assemblies in support of equipment and lab spaces
- Responsible for maintaining IT resources including closed networks for data transfer, re-imaging PCs, software licensing
- Respond to high volume email from clients and vendors related to lab activity
