Laboratory Specialist

RENECO's mission is to implement a global conservation strategy aiming to restore and preserve the Houbara bustard populations of North Africa (Chlamydotis undulata undulata) and Asia (Chlamydotis macqueenii).

To achieve these goals, RENECO has developed a multidisciplinary approach within different centers located in Morocco, Central Asia, and the Arabian Peninsula by combining fundamental and applied research.

To cope with the expansion of its activities and due to the development of new conservation projects,

RENECO is opening new positions, giving a unique opportunity to be part of an ambitious conservation program.

You will join our Veterinary Laboratory in Kazakhstan , and your main responsibilities will include:

• Conduct laboratory analyses on samples received from breeding operations.
• Ensure secure collection and screening of bird samples (e.g, Salmonella).
• Perform diagnostic testing for selected pathogens.
• Follow laboratory protocols and monitor the full sampling process.
• Perform analysis in haematology, microbiology, and cytology.
• Contribute to the continuous development of laboratory techniques and new testing methods.
• Ensure accurate laboratory data collection and updates in the relevant databases.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures and internal controls.
• Oversee proper maintenance, functionality, and management of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
• Take part in research activities related to production.
• Support biotech management and participate in team coordination when required.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Microbiology is required.
• Previous practical experience in a laboratory setting.
• Strong hands-on experience in microbiology and routine laboratory testing.
• Proven ability in accurate sample handling and preparation.
• Solid knowledge of laboratory equipment operation.
• Ability to train and mentor the laboratory staff.
• Strong communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Willing to relocate to Kazakhstan.
