Assume ownership of the laboratory, including analytical equipment, policies, scheduling, quality, and safety.

Collaborate with operations staff to manage laboratory workload and perform a wide variety of water quality analyses.

Ensure standard methods of laboratory analyses and proper use of analytical equipment.

Perform quality checks and verification of lab analyses to ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory permits.
-
Validate data quality and compile water quality data for reporting.
-
Install, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory analytical equipment.
-
Maintain lab equipment certifications and calibrations.
-
Enter data and maintain laboratory records.
-
Coordinate with accredited laboratories for compliance sampling and analysis.

Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
-
Be available on-call for laboratory-related issues or questions.

Perform other duties as required.

Two years of experience in Water Quality, Environmental Quality, Industrial Pretreatment, or general environmental laboratory.

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field.

Experience in field sampling procedures for Potable Drinking Water or Industrial Water Systems.

Experience with a wide variety of analytical methods and probe measurements.

Knowledge of water/wastewater operations and water quality standards and regulations.

Ability to operate and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.

Thorough knowledge of laboratory safety and ability to guide staff on safe chemical handling.

Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Exceptional planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Effective and courteous communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Valid Texas Driver’s License.
