Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a Lab Technician to assist in the daily laboratory operations, providing timely and accurate analysis of plant line and product samples, and correctly documenting results.

Key responsibilities would include:

• Accurately perform analysis on plant line and final product samples as prescribed in the relevant quality manual. To calculate and record results as required and to check and re-test abnormal results.
• Notify relevant supervisor of all out of spec products within the agreed time frames.
• Perform analysis on non-routine samples as required.
• Prepare reagents according to documented methods and to ensure that stocks do not run out.
• Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
• Maintain analytical records and ensure all results are being communicated to relevant employees.
• Demonstrate routine tests and procedures and assist with staff training as required.
• Maintain the working place, equipment and glassware in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
• Ensure all work practices are performed to prescribed safety standards and unsafe acts are reported.
• Supervise and train staff when designated to do so .and assist with cleaning and maintenance duties as required.
• Ensure the Company's Health, Safety Environmental and Management system requirements are adhered to.in work activities, and be actively involved in seeking continuous improvement of products and work practices.
• Carry out other laboratory duties as required.

You should possess the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry or similar field of study.
• 2-3 years of dairy/ food and beverage manufacturing industry experience
