Job Summary

Lab technician conducts required tests on the raw materials and finished goods to check their compliance with quality and safety standards. The incumbent prepares quality results reports and enters data into ERP system.

Job Responsibilities Quality Tests
  • Under the guidance of the manager schedule daily visits to warehouses for checking quality and adherence with storage and handling guidelines
  • Conduct tests on the raw materials and processed goods as per specifications and record results
  • Ensure First In First Out principle is applied while moving a batch for production
  • Prepare a report on test results and record the data into the ERP system
  • Oversee fumigation process
Laboratory Maintenance
  • Maintain the laboratory operations by keeping the equipment operational and keeping current with formulations
  • Maintain a stock of testing material and chemical and request for replenishment and replacement whenever necessary, while ensuring the lab remains operational
  • Follow health and safety standards in the laboratory
HSE
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedure, and standards established by the company
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PEE) when required
  • Promptly report any work-related incident, injury, or near misses to Site Safety Team or Line Manager.
R&D Support
  • Work closely with Sauces vendor to develop new recipes.
  • Conducts new ingredient and food product research.
  • Develops product, process and/or packaging specifications for food products.
  • Performs product scale-up and new product commissioning.
  • Conducts operational data analyses to finalize product and process specifications
  • Prepares detailed reports on research findings and product development activities. Maintains accurate records of all research and development activities.
  • Proposes new ideas and concepts to enhance the company's product offerings.
Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Secondary education with diploma in Food processing or related field.
  • B.Sc (Hons) food Science & Technology.

Professional Qualifications

  • Training Certificate in Health & Safety Awareness.

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Quality Testing.
  • Proven experience in Rice industry or Sauces Industry.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Safety Standards and OHS Protocols.

Any Others

  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language
