Job Summary:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for collecting, handling, and processing patient specimens such as blood and urine samples. The role involves performing phlebotomy, operating laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate sample preparation and documentation while following safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform phlebotomy procedures to collect blood samples from patients.
• Collect, label, and process specimens including blood, urine, and other laboratory samples.
• Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation according to laboratory protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Prepare samples for testing and assist in routine laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of patient samples and test results.
• Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance guidelines in the laboratory.
• Assist laboratory staff with general lab operations and inventory of supplies.

Basic Requirements:

• Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection .
• Knowledge of blood and urine sample handling procedures .
