Job Summary: Laborer
The Laborer is a member of our team, responsible for providing general and/or material labor skills in support of production. This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities. Starting wage for this position is $18.50/hr., with .50 pr hr increases every 6 months until the established top rate of pay is achieved. Additional Paid Relief Days, $1,000 SIGN ON BONUS (Paid in increments throughout the first year of continued employment), and this position is eligible for the Production Incentive Program.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist machinist and melt personnel load and unload proper equipment
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks
- Keep department organized (rings, races & center plugs in correct location)
- General housekeeping/janitorial duties
- Fill out receiving reports and turn reports into Department Manager
- Assist in loading and unloading furnaces
- Learn different roll conditions and proper flow throughout the shop
- Learn the proper use of straps and cables
- Assist with other duties as assigned
- Forklift operation as needed
- Crane operation as needed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to function well in a high-paced, stressful environment
- Strong attention to detail required
- Must be able to work shifts and overtime as needed
- Prior experience in factory or foundry preferred
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Exposed to seasonal temperature changes
- Manufacturing environment with heat, noise, dust, and vibration
