LabVIEW Developer/Electrical Support Equipment Engineer

KBR is seeking to fill a position for an engineer that will take on LabVIEW development tasks and EGSE (electrical ground support equipment) design tasks to assist in the development and testing of a TVAC (thermal vacuum) chamber and future general lab software & EGSE development.

Work location: Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt, MD

Job type: Onsite, full time

The Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Assuming a lead LabVIEW development role of the “SPIF App” instrument testing software suite.
  • Develop an automated thermal control application using LabVIEW to conduct thermal cycling tests on aerospace hardware.
  • Design the TVAC chamber thermal control hardware system to compliment the thermal control application.
  • Maintain LabVIEW and Python software library via Gitlab.
  • Provide aerospace instrument testing support as-needed.
  • Interfacing with engineers and scientists to implement bug fixes and additional features.
  • Provide basic mechanical design and assembly support for lab-related tasks.
  • Provide basic IT related tasks such as updating computers, maintaining necessary licenses, designing custom lab computers, etc.

Required Experience, Skills and Certifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience developing software systems with LabVIEW.
  • Has qualified for National Instruments CLD (Certified LabVIEW Developer) currently or in the past.
  • Has experience in automating hardware testing systems.
  • Has basic experience in developing Python and MATLAB scripts.
  • Has experience in writing & technical writing. Software user and development manuals.
  • Knowledge of thermal transfer and thermal control systems.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Teamwork skills.

Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • On-Site work performed at GSPC Greenbelt, MD location.

Basic Compensation:

$121,300.00- $182,000.00

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
