About the Role:
As a Land Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our organization by providing support to our land management team. You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting data related to land ownership, entitlements, land use, and land value. Your work will help us make informed decisions about land acquisition, leasing, and development. You will work closely with other members of the land management team to ensure that our land assets are being utilized effectively and efficiently.
What You’ll Do:
As a Land Analyst, you will use your analytical and problem-solving skills on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data related to land ownership, land use, and land value. You will also use your communication skills to prepare reports and presentations based on your findings. You will work independently and as part of a team to develop land acquisition and leasing strategies and ensure that land assets are being utilized effectively and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct research and analysis related to land ownership, land use, and land value

Assist with getting land parcels entitled

Prepare reports and presentations based on your findings

Assist in the development of land acquisition and leasing strategies

Collaborate with other members of the land management team to ensure that land assets are being utilized effectively and efficiently

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to land management

Evaluate potential land opportunities for home pricing, home plans, land pricing and deal structure to maximize profitability

Participate in deal underwriting including market and proforma analysis

Research municipality websites, deed records, and planning submissions for land and lot acquisition opportunities

Create data management tools to effectively analyze the macro and micro market areas for acquisition and development opportunities

Create and maintain a database for competitive data by submarket, by neighborhood
-
Effectively communicate and collaborate with internal and external parties and professionally represent Smith Douglas

Learn and implement full capabilities within SMART, Metrostudy and MarketNSight to produce requested analytics for the land and sales team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
-
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as geography, environmental science, or real estate
Experience:
-
Experience in the land acquisition function
-
Experience in land entitlements
-
Experience with municipal governments
Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

Familiarity with GIS software

Experience with data visualization tools
Other Skills:
