We are looking for a land surveyor who will be able to accurately measuring and mapping land to determine boundaries, elevation, and features for legal, construction, and development purposes. Responsibilities include conducting surveys, using specialized equipment like GPS and total stations, performing mathematical calculations, researching legal documents, and preparing maps and reports. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and detail-oriented skills, and collaboration with professionals like engineers and architects. Key responsibilities
- Conducting surveys: Performing land surveys to measure distances, angles, and elevations on various properties.
- Data collection and analysis: Using specialized equipment like GPS, total stations, and drones to collect data, and then analyzing and verifying the calculations.
- Mapping and reporting: Creating precise maps, sketches, and reports of survey results, including cadastral (property boundaries) and topographic maps.
- Legal research: Researching legal documents, survey records, and land titles to establish and verify property boundaries.
- Technical guidance: Providing technical advice on the surveying aspects of projects and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Project support: Providing foundational data for construction projects, land development, and real estate transactions.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: A degree in surveying, geomatics, or a related field is often required.
- Technical skills: Proficiency with land surveying equipment (GPS, total stations), CAD, and GIS software.
