Job Purpose
To perform surveying activities required for construction projects, ensuring accurate setting out, measurements, levels, and alignment of structures in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct land and construction surveys using surveying equipment such as Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other survey instruments.
- Establish and verify control points, benchmarks, and reference lines on construction sites.
- Carry out setting out works for buildings, roads, infrastructure, utilities, and other construction activities.
- Verify dimensions, elevations, coordinates, and alignments according to approved drawings.
- Prepare survey reports, field notes, calculations, and as-built survey records.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, and site teams to ensure survey accuracy.
- Monitor construction progress and provide survey support throughout project execution.
- Perform topographic surveys and site measurements as required.
- Ensure surveying equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operated.
- Identify discrepancies between site conditions and design drawings and report them to management.
- Assist in preparing quantity measurements and site documentation when required.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
- Support project handover by preparing final as-built surveys and related documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Professional surveying certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction surveying standards and procedures.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Land Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Experience in building, infrastructure, road, utility, or civil construction projects is preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and surveying instruments.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and survey-related software.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Working Conditions
- Primarily site-based work environment.
- May require working outdoors under varying weather conditions.
- Occasional extended working hours depending on project requirements.
