Key Responsibilities
1. Surveying Operations & Execution
- Setting Out: Accurately establish primary and secondary control points and markers for the precise setting out of foundations, piles, columns, retaining walls, gridlines, and infrastructure elements.
- Data Acquisition: Conduct detailed topographical surveys, boundary surveys, and verification checks using advanced equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, and digital levels.
- Elevation Control: Establish and maintain precise elevation benchmarks (TBMs) across the site, ensuring vertical consistency for all construction phases, including bulk excavation and floor slab levels.
- Volume Calculation: Execute volume calculations for earthworks, cut and fill operations, and material stockpiles to support project quantity tracking and payment certifications.
2. Quality Assurance (QA/QC) & Documentation
- Verification Checks: Perform independent dimensional control checks on completed works (e.g., as-built surveys, column verticality checks, alignment verification) to ensure strict adherence to approved drawings and quality standards.
- Drawing Interpretation: Interpret complex engineering and architectural drawings (including CAD and BIM models) to extract the necessary coordinate and elevation data for field application.
- Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive, organized, and auditable records of all survey data, field books, calculation sheets, calibration certificates, and as-built reports.
3. Coordination & Equipment
- Technical Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the Structural, Civil, and MEP teams to resolve survey discrepancies and ensure accurate transfer of line and level for all services and interfaces.
- Equipment Management: Responsible for the routine calibration, maintenance, and proper use of all surveying instruments and software, ensuring accuracy is maintained at all times.
- HSE Compliance: Ensure all surveying activities, particularly those involving working near heavy equipment or at height, are conducted in strict compliance with UNEC’s HSE policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience as a Land Surveyor, with at least 3 years directly working on large-scale high-rise or complex civil infrastructure projects in the UAE/GCC region.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert level proficiency in operating and managing data from Leica, Topcon, or Trimble Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and automatic levels.
- Software Skills: Highly proficient in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and survey processing software. Familiarity with BIM coordination tools is a plus.
- Local Knowledge: Proven familiarity with local datum, coordinate systems, and procedures required for submission and approval to UAE local authorities (e.g., RTA, DM, DDA).
- Skills: Excellent numerical accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and strong report writing skills in English.
Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
- Accommodation, transportation, and medical insurance as per UAE Labour Law and company policy.
