Landscape and Maintenance Technician

NeighborWorks® Boise (NWB) is a local affordable housing nonprofit that helps Idahoans obtain, maintain, and retain housing. We are seeking a motivated and mission-driven Landscape and Maintenance Technician to help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming properties for our residents. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends landscaping and property maintenance, with responsibilities shifting seasonally.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for maintaining exterior grounds and supporting property maintenance across all NWB multifamily properties. During peak landscaping seasons, the focus is on groundskeeping and outdoor upkeep. In the off-season, this role transitions to support the maintenance team with unit turns, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

What You’ll Do

Landscaping and Grounds

• Perform lawn care: mowing, edging, fertilizing, weeding, and mulching
• Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers
• Monitor and troubleshoot irrigation systems
• Keep outdoor areas clean, safe, and free of debris
• Assist with seasonal tasks like leaf removal and snow/ice management

Maintenance Support (Off-Season and As Needed)

• Assist maintenance crew with service requests
• Help prepare vacant units (painting, drywall, minor repairs)
• Support appliance troubleshooting and installations
• Assist in conducting property inspections and preventative maintenance measures
• Maintain inventory, supplies, and maintenance records
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing standards

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with landscaping equipment and irrigation systems
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry (preferred)
• Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and software (AppFolio, Google Suite)
• Commitment to safety, quality work, and excellent service

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: Starting at $20.00/per hour or DOE
