Landscape Chemical Spray Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Chemical Applicator will be responsible for applying and documenting landscape chemical treatments for weed and pest control to support optimal plant health. This role operates as part of the horticulture team and contributes to environmentally responsible practices that align with Camden Gardens’ values and sustainability initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Scheduling and applying pesticides and plant nutritional products (including herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, horticultural oils and soaps, fertilizers) according to label and safety procedures.
• Identifying and diagnosing pest control needs in assigned landscape area.
• Recording all applications into activity reports according to all applicable laws, regulations and departmental policy and practice.
• Providing proper care, maintenance, and storage of spray equipment.
• Safely handling, transporting, storing and disposing of all chemical products and containers.
• Maintaining current state certifications for licensing, as required.
• Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Camden Gardens policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

• Knowledge & familiarity with the landscaping field.
• Able to lift and work in the field.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

REQUIRED LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION:

Must have a valid Washington Driver’s License

Must have a valid WSDA Commercial Applicator License (Do not apply if you are not currently licensed)

1-3 Years: Pesticide Applicator experience, Landscape maintenance experience preferred;

Job Type: Full-time. Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
