Miracle Farms is a fast growing landscape company in the Moultonborough, New Hampshire. We are green industry professionals committed to designing, building, and maintaining residential landscapes. We are currently seeking a qualified landscape construction designer and estimator who would like to join our growing team and help us execute on behalf of our clients. Each of the jobs that we estimate have their own unique characteristics which makes each project new and interesting.
Job Description
- Design and estimate a large variety of residential landscape projects ranging in size from $10,000 to over $1M.
- Utilize CAD based software to design landscapes to clients specifications
- Work on multiple projects at once and manage a schedule that ensures deadlines are met.
- Work both in the office and in the field on a regular basis attending pre bid meetings, analyzing plan specifics, and understanding the full scope of work for each project and their requirements.
- Act as liaison between clients and company to ensure communication and expectations are clear.
- Manage and maintain internal estimating software templates and libraries, constantly updating production rates and costs as they fluctuate to ensure that our proposals are comprehensive and competitive.
- Communication is an integral part of this role, primarily with architects and sales reps on the front end and project managers throughout the project.
- Review key components of each job site to consider factors such as general conditions, site layout/logistics, schedule forecasting, etc.
- Complete job costing during and after a project to help the project managers ensure that jobs are staying on schedule and within budget.
Desired characteristics, qualifications and requirements include:
- 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture or horticulture is preferred.
- Being familiar with New England trees, shrubs and perennials is crucial for creation of planting plans and making recommendations
- Proficiency on platforms such as Microsoft Office, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Dynascape or Vectorworks.
- Ability to effectively communicate with everyone involved on a project from start to finish.
- Proficient in the following areas: grading, drainage, plant selection and layout, lighting, irrigation & water features, amongst many other job components.
- Knowledge of New Hampshire shoreland & wetland rules and regulations is critical.
- Ability to prepare and present landscape plans to clients & general contractors
- Creative thinking and imagination are paramount in this role
- Travel is required for site layout throughout a project from start to finish. This creates a combination of in-office and out of office work.
