Duties and responsibilities are listed as follows but not limited to:
- Pursue leads and referrals by using creativity and the beauty of existing nature to bring the clients visions into reality.
- Design, present and sell landscape estimates to clients.
- Planning the finished product, tying in new features with current ones, by sketching it to scale. These drawings will be very detailed, down to the window and door placement on the buildings.
- Performing site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, lighting, irrigation, the view, and architecture style of the building.
- The ability to communicate well both with clients and workers (crew leaders, crew laborers, contractors, supervisors, etc.) on the landscaping team.
- Researching topics such as plants and their ability to survive in an area, guidelines and codes.
- Reviewing plans, proposed changes, and any other necessary documents.
- Oversees progression of the project to ensure that it is going as planned.
- Keeping records, including everything from correspondence to reports.
- Communicate and collect client payments, follow-up on any outstanding invoices.
Qualifications required to successfully perform the job. These are the qualifications that are necessary for someone to be considered for the position.
Qualifications include:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in landscape design or landscape Architecture preferred
- Creative mind and a green thumb
- Strong organizational and communication skills along with keeping accurate records
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD based software
- Knowledge of installing and maintenance of patios, walkways, ponds, annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, etc.
- Project management
