Job Summary

The Landscape Engineer is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and ensuring high-quality execution of all landscape works, including softscape, hardscape, irrigation networks, planting, and external works. Works closely with contractors, designers, and authorities to ensure the landscape design is implemented correctly and delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Supervision & Quality Control

• Supervise daily landscape works including planting, soil preparation, hardscape, paving, and irrigation installation.
• Ensure compliance with approved landscape designs, drawings, specifications, and authority standards.
• Inspect softscape materials (trees, shrubs, groundcovers) for quality and health.
• Check hardscape workmanship (kerbstones, interlock, pathways, pergolas, fountains, lighting, etc.).

2. Irrigation & Water Systems

• Review and supervise installation of irrigation systems (mainlines, drip lines, sprinklers, pumps, valves).
• Ensure proper hydraulic pressure and correct zoning of irrigation networks.
• Test irrigation systems and approve commissioning.

3. Material & Technical Review

• Review and approve material submissions for plants, soils, fertilizers, hardscape materials, and irrigation equipment.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and RFIs.
• Coordinate with design team for clarifications or modifications.

4. Progress & Documentation

• Monitor progress of landscape works and report delays or issues.
• Prepare daily/weekly reports, inspection requests (IRs), and snag lists.
• Ensure timely delivery of landscape works according to project schedule.

5. Coordination

• Coordinate with civil, MEP, structural, and architectural teams for interface works.
• Attend progress and technical meetings with contractors and consultants.
• Coordinate with authorities for approvals and inspections if required.

6. Environmental & Safety Compliance

• Ensure landscape works follow sustainability, environmental, and HSE standards.
• Monitor safe installation of landscape and irrigation works.

7. Handover & Maintenance

• Inspect planting works during maintenance/establishment periods.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of lighting, irrigation, and hardscape elements.
• Ensure all landscape features are completed and defect-free before handover.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of softscape, hardscape, and irrigation systems.
• Ability to read landscape drawings and details clearly.
• Good understanding of soil types, plant species, and climate conditions (especially UAE).
• Strong site supervision skills and ability to manage contractors.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Agriculture Engineering, or Civil Engineering with landscape experience.
