Position Summary
The Landscape Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising field crews in the execution of landscape construction, maintenance, and enhancement projects. This role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to company quality standards. The Foreman acts as the primary on-site leader, coordinating labor, materials, equipment, and communication between the crew and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead daily activities of landscape crews in the field
- Read and interpret landscape plans, drawings, and job specifications
- Coordinate jobsite setup, execution, and cleanup
- Ensure all work is completed according to project timelines and quality standards
- Operate and oversee the safe use of tools, equipment, and machinery
- Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques and safety procedures
- Communicate job progress, issues, and needs to project managers
- Track daily work reports, materials used, and crew hours
- Maintain jobsite safety compliance and enforce company safety policies
- Coordinate with subcontractors, inspectors, and utility companies when needed
- Identify and resolve field issues in real time to avoid delays
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of company equipment
Qualifications
- Prior experience in landscaping, construction, or site work (foreman experience preferred)
- Ability to read and understand landscape/ construction plans
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of grading, planting, hardscape, irrigation, or related trades
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment (skid steer, excavator, mowers, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Extended periods of standing, bending, and manual labor
- Work in outdoor environments including heat, cold, and wet conditions
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in outdoor job sites and may require early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekend work depending on project schedules.
